Click here to see more customer reviews…

The Acer Aspire V5-571P-6473 begins with a 3rd-gen Intel Core i5-3317U processor at its core, which runs at a super fast 2.6ghz when turbo boosted. This is a high level processor and will out-perform any competing AMD CPU hands down. While it may not be quite as good as an i7, you’ll only really notice the difference when rendering HD video. Overall, this i5 CPU will take on almost anything you throw at it, and always keep your system running smooth and fast. The V5 also packs a whopping 750gb SATA hard drive into its slender shell, allowing you to store a huge amount of files, music, movies, games and applications. Whether you’re a big movie downloader or just need everyday storage, this hard drive won’t fill up quickly and will last most users years.

Keeping up with the high performance trend, the Aspire v5 touch comes pre-installed with a massive 8gb of DDR3 RAM memory, which will allow even the biggest multi-taskers to keep going seamlessly. 8gb of RAM will allow you to open a wide range of programs at once and quickly switch between them without the Aspire slowing down one bit. Perfectly suited to power users and gamers, this will be adequate for any level of PC usage. Adding to the multimedia experience are the dual Dolby Advanced Audio v4 stereo speakers, which play sounds with brilliant clarity and powerful notes. To combine these features is the Intel HD 4000 integrated graphics chip, while a separate graphics card would have performed better, the Intel graphics have improved dramatically in 3rd gen processors. Surprisingly, it will allow you to play most new games with a reasonable frame rate, providing you tweak the graphics settings to suit it. All of the features above combine to create a truly ultimate multimedia experience.

Acer Aspire V5-571P-6473′s touch screen is fast and responsive, just as you would expect. Combined with Windows 8, it makes the whole system easier to use and you’ll be forgetting about your mouse in no time. Windows 8 does take some getting used to, but the desktop is virtually the same and Microsoft have tried their best to help you learn the new OS quickly. The backlit keyboard is a useful feature too, making it easy to see in any light.  A few other useful features are included too, like its DVD burner, 2-in-1 card reader, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, 1.3mp HD webcam and its ultra portable power supply. To finish the V5 off, its polished in a silky silver coat, which provides a look of elegance.

At the core of the Acer Aspire V3-551-8469 is an AMD Quad-Core A8-4500M Accelerated Processor, which will run up to 2.8ghz with AMD TurboCore technology when needed. While this processor may not quite match the power of the competing i5, it will beat an i3 and allow you to run plenty of high performance applications without the CPU straining. This CPU will keep up with you through almost anything, unless you’re trying to render hours of HD video of course. Overall, the AMD A8-4500M processor is fast and smooth and will suit most users. Also included is a huge 500gb SATA hard drive, perfect for storing movies, games, videos and plenty of applications. This amount of hard drive space will last even the biggest movie downloader quite some time and will be more than enough for everyday use.

The Aspire V3 comes pre-installed with a perfectly adequate 4gb of DDR3 RAM memory, as this is the average amount of memory for most laptops and PC’s, it will cope with everyday use easily. You’ll be able to open plenty of applications at once and quickly switch between them, without slowing the Aspire down. Combined with the processor, this will handle most performance programs and files easily.  The V3 displays anything you’re working on/watching in beautifully clear 720p HD quality, with its widescreen 15.6″ CineCrystal LED backlit display. As with most new laptops, the screen quality is brilliant and you won’t be disappointed. Adding to this crystal clear cinematic experience is an AMD Radeon HD 7640G graphics card, which will allow all your multimedia to flow seamlessly and load very quickly. It can also handle plenty of games at a reasonable frame rate, games like Dirt 3, Diablo 3, Fifa 12 and Starcraft 2 will all run seamlessly, providing you tweak the graphics options slightly. HP 2000-2b10NR Review

Release Date: October 12, 2012

The HP 2000-2b10NR is one of HP’s less famous laptop models, yet you still get a lot of laptop for your money.

It’s packed full of useful features and looks gorgeous, definitely a laptop to keep in mind.

Click here to see more customer reviews…

At the core of the HP 2000-2b10NR is an AMD E1-1200 Accelerated Processor, running at a clock speed of 1.4ghz (more when turbo boost kicks in.) While this CPU may not match up to Intel processors, it still gives you enough power for basic tasks and a fair amount of hard usage. The E1-1200 is perfect for everyday usage and a small amount of light-performance, just don’t expect to run extremely CPU intensive applications with it. This should suit most everyday users brilliantly. Also encased within the sleek, glossy shell is a very reasonable 320gb SATA hard drive, which will store a large amount of applications, music, work files and a small video collection. This will be more than enough for most users storing general files.

The 2b10NR comes pre-installed with an adequate 4gb of DDR3 RAM memory, and can easily be upgraded to 8gb for less than $30. However, 4gb is the average amount for most laptops and works well with general use, you should be able to open plenty of applications at once and work between them without slowing the laptop down. As always with HP laptops, the screen is a beautifully crisp 15.6″ HD BrightView LED-backlit display, with a resolution of 1366 x 768 which allows you to view native 720p High Definition footage as it was supposed to be shown. The screen quality is perfect and you won’t be disappointed, unless you like 17.3″ screens of course. Adding to the cinematic experience of the screen are the Altec Lansing dual speakers, which allow a clear, powerful sound to be projected and will go up to max volume without distortion. Multimedia users will always hear their audio with clarity and deep, powerful bass notes.

The integrated AMD Radeon HD 7310 graphics chip will help keep multimedia running smooth, but it isn’t recommended for gaming at all. If you’re looking to play games, there are better choices. The HP includes plenty of the expected features, such as a DVD burner, HD webcam with integrated microphone, Wi-Fi and multi format memory card reader. Windows 8 comes pre-installed and optimizes the HP’s performance, as well as adding some very useful new features. Connectivity isn’t a problem too, with; 3 USB 2.0 ports, 1 HDMI port, 1 VGA port, 1 LAN port, 1 mic-in and 1 audio-out. To complete the design, it’s finished in the unique HP Imprint finish in black licorice, which sports an elegant and defined look.

Overall, the HP 2000-2b10NR is a practical and elegant looking laptop. Perfect for everyday use and light-performance use, however, gamers should look into other laptops.

Toshiba Satellite C855D-S5339 Review

Release Date: October 12, 2012

Toshiba Satellite series laptops have always been good value, whether you were looking for a budget laptop or high performance laptop, you always get the features you need for a reasonable price.

This Toshiba Satellite C855D-S5339 is a combination of the two, it has a budget price, but still packs plenty of high performance features in, definitely a laptop worth looking at.

Click here to see more customer reviews…

The Toshiba Satellite C855D-S5339 is built around an AMD E-Series E-300 accelerated processor, which runs at 1.6ghz. Although it may not quite be an i3, i5 or i7 it certainly has plenty of processing power and will allow you to perform a fair amount of hard usage and CPU intensive tasks before slowing down. While this will suit everyday users most, it still has enough power for light gaming and multimedia usage. Also included is a spacious 320gb SATA hard drive, which will store a fair amount of music, videos, work files and plenty of applications. Although 320gb is considered small by todays standards, it will be more than enough if you’re only storing everyday files such as programs and music.

The memory is only a mere 2gb of DDR3 RAM, which will cope with a small amount of multi tasking and fast switching between programs, however it may start to slow down if you have too many applications open. That said, unlike most laptops the Toshiba Satellite C855D-S5339 can handle up to 16gb of RAM, so I’d advise buying an extra pack of RAM when purchasing this laptop, which won’t cost you more than $40, and it’s well worth it. The screen doesn’t hold back on quality, with its 15.6-inch TruBrite LED-backlit display showing full HD crystal clear quality every time. AT a resolution of 1366 x 768, you’ll be able to watch movies, videos, multimedia and games in native 720p High Definition. The Satellite even comes with a mid-range graphics chip, which will allow for light gaming and help keep multimedia usage smooth and fast. The integrated AMD Radeon HD 6310 will run quite a few newer games on low-mid settings with a good frame rate and reasonable quality, games like The Sims 3, Starcraft 2, Fifa 11 and Anno 1404 should run with no problems.

Windows 8 comes pre-installed with the C855D-S5339, which does take some getting used to, but also has some very useful features added. In essence, everything is still the same on the desktop so you won’t be completely lost, but the start screen is something you either love or hate. That said, Windows 8 does boost performance and make it easier to use certain applications. The speakers are of high quality and will work well watching Netflix movies or when using for light gaming. Also included are some of the more standard features, like a DVD burner and HD webcam. Plenty of connectivity is included, but there isn’t a HDMI port, which could have been useful with this laptop. The S5339 includes; 3 USB 2.0 ports, 1 VGA port, 1 mic-in and 1 audio-out as well as a multi-format card reader, with support for all the popular memory cards.

The Toshiba Satellite C855D-S5339 is a great laptop at a budget price. This will be perfectly fine for everyday use and light gaming, however I would definitely recommend upgrading the RAM straight away.

HP Pavilion g7-2238nr Review

Release Date: November 17, 2012

The HP Pavilion series laptops have always held a great name for build quality, speed and excellent support, and the HP Pavilion g7-2238nr definitely doesn’t disappoint.

Click here to see more customer reviews…

The HP Pavilion g7-2238nr is built around a Next Gen AMD A6-4400M Accelerated Processor, which runs at 3.2ghz when turbo boosted. While AMD processors still don’t match up to the power of Intel, their performance have vastly improved recently and this dual-core CPU will handle more than just everyday computing. It will glide through any everyday task with no problems, and can handle quite a few CPU intensive programs, just don’t try rendering hours of HD footage. This A6-4400M processor should suit most users and will run efficiently and smoothly. Also included is a sizable 500gb SATA hard drive, this will allow you to store plenty of programs, music and videos without filling up too quickly.

While the HP Pavilion g7-2238nr only comes pre-installed with 4gb of RAM memory, it will open plenty of programs at once and allow you to perform multiple tasks without slowing down. 4gb is the standard amount of RAM for most laptops, so if you’re only going to be doing standard PC tasks, this will be more than enough. However, if you like to keep multiple programs and files open at once and quickly work between them, I’d advise upgrading the RAM to 8gb, which should only cost around $30.  The g7′s screen is a very impressive 17.3″ HD BrightView LED-backlit display, with a resolution of 1600 x 900 for an immersive cinematic HD experience. The quality is crystal clear and the display is big enough for watching movies or videos on, if you love big displays, this laptop is definitely one to consider. Adding to this cinematic experience are the Dolby Digital Advanced Audio speakers, which play sounds with perfect clarity and a deep bass note, brilliant for users who watch movies on their laptop.

Integrated into the processor is an AMD Radeon HD 7520G graphics chip, which out-performs Intel’s HD 4000 graphics by far. While these graphics aren’t the choice for hardcore gamers, it will happily play plenty of new games at a reasonable frame-rate and quality. Games such as Fifa 13, Counter Strike Go, Darksiders 2 and Diablo 3 will have no problem playing on the g7. These graphics also help with plenty of multi-media applications to keep things smooth and fast. The CPU will always stay cool when gaming too, as HP CoolSense will keep the laptop cool, even after hours of constant gaming.

The 2238nr also includes some useful, yet sometimes overlooked features, such as a DVD rewriter, Wi-Fi, a media card reader and a full 10 key NUM pad. It comes pre-installed with Windows 8, which brings some impressive new features and allows the g7 to run to its full capabilities. Connectivity isn’t a problem too, with; 2 USB 3.0 ports, 1 USB 2.0 port, 1 HDMI port, 1 VGA port, 1 LAN port, a headphone-out and microphone-in. To complete the design, it’s finished in the unique HP Imprint finish in sparkling black.

The HP Pavilion g7-2238nr is a practical and feature packed laptop. It can be used for plenty of applications, such as light gaming, multi-media use and just everyday use, all at a great price.

Absolutely perfect for all of you fast multi-taskers out there. The Toshiba Satellite L875D-S7343 comes with an elegant, crystal clear 17.3″ TruBrite LED-backlit display, with a resolution of 1600 x 900 for stunning 720p HD quality. If you love a big display, this is the laptop for you, it will display games, movies, videos and even general work in beautiful HD quality. Although its graphics card is integrated into the processor, it performs surprisingly well and will out-perform Intel HD 4000 graphics. The AMD Radeon HD 7660G allows you to render videos, and play plenty of games on medium settings, including; Counter Strike, Team Fortress 2, Fallout 3 and many more. The cooling system also works very well when gaming, it keeps the CPU cool even after hours of gaming.

Integrated seamlessly with all the features above is the Windows 8 operating system, while it does take some getting used to, it is virtually the same as any other OS.
